Canyoning Palvico

The Rio Palvico gorge is one of the top canyoning Garda Lake activities

Request more info

Steep, towering rock walls, enchanted caves, crystal clear water, mystical light and shadow play. Canyoning Palvico is one of the most impressive Lake Garda canyoning tours in northern Italy.   The canyon in Valle di Ledro has a bit of everything: jumps (up to 3 metres), rock slides and swimming passages, as well as abseil cliffs, the longest of which is a 50 metre waterfall. Those who do not want to jump will be rappelled down.

Tip: We recommend a good physical fitness, passion for water and no fear of heights.

Why Canyoning Palvico:
Canyoning Palvico is - despite the same duration - more demanding than the tour through the Canyon Rio Nero. The reason why is that there are hardly any possibilities to get out of the canyon, the higher cliffs and therefore the more mystical atmosphere, the colder water and the very long abseiling section. You do not have to walk.

We remind you to read and let others read if you also book the general and specific disclaimer of canyoning for other people, you can also find it here

  • All participants are taken by our minibus from Arco, Torbole or Riva del Garda to our canyoning centre at Passo Ampola to get changed. Wetsuits and technical equipment will be provided by us.
  • Afterwards the tour continues by van to the starting point of the tour.
  • After the briefing we head off into the water. The first part of the tour is ideal to get used to the new ambience and offers small jumps and slides. In the second part, some longer abseils and jumps will put your courage to the test. The highlight is the so-called "calatone", a 50-metre abseil cliff in a waterfall.
  • The tour ends with a little surprise.
  • The van waits for the participants at the end of the tour.

Due to the few possibilities to get out of the canyon and the rather closed environment compared to the Rio Nero, the tour is well suited for sporty beginners and participants who already have some experience.

  • Longest abseil: 50 metres
  • Longest slide: 7 metres
  • Maximum jumping height: 6 metres

Please note: Nobody has to jump - if you are unsure, you will always be roped down by the mountain guide.

Certified UIAGM mountain guides with canyoning specialisation accompany the tour and guarantee maximum safety.

CANYONING - COVID-19 management

  • All clients must fill in the Covid 19 questionnaire (an email with link will be sent to you when you register) the day before or on the same day of the activity.
  • All participants should carry with them a face mask to be used when it is not possible to guarantee the maximum distance of 2 m (for eg. When being transported to the activity, during briefing and debriefing…).
  • If the transport service offered is used, any backpacks, bags, towels, costumes etc will be placed in the special single use bag which will be handed to you by the guide when you set off.
  • Disinfectant gel is available for you, and it is obligatory to use it: when you get on the van, before getting dressed, at the end of the activity and every time we consider it necessary.
  • You will get dressed outside, technical gear will be handed over to you (wetsuit, watershoes, life jacket, helmet, harness) and is hygienically cleaned and sanified after every single use.
  • During the approach walk on foot it is important to keep a distance of 2m, or else to wear a mask.
  • Mmove will supply each participant with a “buff” (neck warmer) to use during the descent in the torrent, and must be used any time when the interpersonal distances cannot be kept (e.g. during jumps, diving, abseiling).

Any client booking the tour must:

  • Fill in the Covid19 questionnaire before starting
  • Have a mask to wear when it is not possible to respect the established distance.
  • Respect the hygiene standards washing your hands often.
  • Keep safety distance where possible.
  • Respect the Mountain Guide’s recommendations.
